#Creatuanary 2024 Day 20
Greetings, intrepid adventurers and visionary dungeon masters! We’re at Day 30 of our extraordinary #Creatuanary Prompt Challenge 2024, and today’s creation, the “Celestial Tempest Dragon,” takes center stage.
Creating this creature was a journey of creativity. I had a few goals in mind. First, I noticed there were already many incredible and unique dragons in D&D 5e. So, I wanted to make sure this dragon fit well into the existing world. Second, I aimed for a Challenge Rating (CR) that filled a unique spot in the ecosystem of creatures. Lastly, I wanted to give this dragon some special abilities that would make it stand out.
The result is a CR 16 “Dragon” that’s unlike any other. It’s both celestial and a dragon, which is a unique combination in 5e. Imagine a creature that combines the grace of a Kirin with the immense power of a Dragon, and you’ve got the Celestial Tempest Dragon.
This celestial dragon is an embodiment of the tempest, wielding elemental fury in its breath and attacks—fire, lightning, and thunder storm through its veins. Its breath weapon possesses the power to deafen and disrupt concentration, altering the tides of battle in its favor. In addition, the Celestial Tempest Dragon possesses a storm form ability, akin to fire elementals ‘fire form’, making each encounter a dynamic and formidable experience.
