#Creatuanary 2024 Day 27
Greetings, adventurers and fellow dungeon masters! We’re back on track with Day 27 of our #Creatuanary Prompt Challenge 2024. Life may have thrown a few curveballs my way in the past few days, causing a slight delay, but I’m thrilled to present a truly intriguing creation inspired by today’s prompt, the “Skyward Spectral Rider.” Let’s delve into the process and updates!
Into the Shadows: The Spectral Sky Rider
The initial prompt, “Skyward Spectral Rider,” left me scratching my head, unsure of where to begin. But then, the word “Spectral” caught my eye— The Spectre I recalled! What a compelling and dangerous low CR creature. Adding that to the notion of a “rider” added a Western, headless horseman Valkyrie vibe to the mix.
I envisioned a creature that could serve as a formidable teir 2 boss, (CR 10) with its lethality stemming from its insubstantial nature. The Spectral Sky Rider ebbs in and out of the world, cursing the living to an eternity without hope of an afterlife.
That’s why I’m thrilled to present today’s creation—the “Spectral Sky Rider” and its bonus stat block, the “Felsteed.” This spectral being can summon and ride the Felsteed, much like the phantom steed spell, adding a unique layer of otherworldly terror to your campaigns.
